Look about as ready as it is going to get. Cut just below the branches on the head.

Thanks Farmerdill!! Will they produce more after I cut?? I heard they do. I am ignorant when it comes to broccoli. :)

Depends on the variety. Most available to homegardeners will makes lots of smaller side shoots.

Thanks so much!!! Something has been eating on the leaves. I thought it may be cabbage worms. I used Sevin dust, but I still see holes. What do you use or what could be eating them?? I saw a japanese beetle, but it was dead.???

Cabbage worms (the white butterfly) and/or Cabbage loopers (the moth) are the worst enemies of broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower. I use Bt ( Thuricide or Dipel). I don't have Japanese beetles and nothing else much bothers them. Flea beetles eat a few holes early but never enough to bother the plant. Sevin is very effective on beetles, both Japanese and flea.

Thanks for your advice. I have gardened many years, but not broccoli or cabbage. I appreciate your responses.
