We have left the poppies to seed everywhere and this double came up this year from the last flower photoed?
Do I have a genetic variable?
Hi there, I have a billzion poppy's and I do have some like this as well. I have a pretty purple one like this and a couple red. I was wondering if they are like an anenome type. I am going to save the seed and see if they come true. Very pretty. Heidi
Turned out very pretty. I think poppies are prone to do this kind of thing.
OK just wondered. I have never seen a double poppy.
Around here there are a lot of poppies that look almost like peonies or roses. Are those considered doubles or something else?
Someone recently gave me seeds of red and pink ones. (Not separated out, unfortunately.) I'm going to be germinating them for next year's master gardener plant sale. If they do well, I'll have lots to share at spring roundups!
