So after buying a rooted cutting ready to bloom of Disocactus ackermanii and having it be the ugliest plant in my collection of no so beautiful plants, it puts out a new leaf this spring and now I see there are 4 buds forming. Finally!
Blown away! D. ackermanii has 4 buds!!!
I am now down to 3 bigger buds, but this plant got repotted this year, and had it not been for the leaf, was going to be compost.
My two year old ackermanii bloomed this year; only one bloom however. It was my second plant to bloom and was quite beautiful. Always undecided whether it is Akerman II or akermanii. You see it both ways. bob
