Watseka, IL(Zone 5a)

My asiatics are done, but I did take some pics of them to post and will do those later.

My tigerlilies have gone sky high! Literally my "babies" are nearly 5 to 6 foot tall!
Apparently they are lovign it here in this garden so I have given them the permission to go rampant!
Nothing like a pretty to look up to!

OK.. lets go Stargazing...

is it me or is the color off on this Stargazer? Perhaps its a a relative? To me, these appear darker than usual and the center is not as vivid either. Maybe its my soil... its alkaline

Can anyone ever have enough lilies?

I am planning on purchasing some for my daughter's property. I think they will survive her neglect of attending flower beds.

By the way .... there is a fall lily co-op at Dave's Garden that is opened until Aug 27th/

You can also order other fall planting flowers such as tulips, iris, hyacinths, daffadils, crocus, amaryllis ... and some others.

If interested go to this link .... you do have to d-mail the host or co-host and provide them with your regular e-mail address to get an invite from the vendor that includes a password to access special ordering process.

The discount prices are 50% + of the retail price ... and the retail prices are extremely good.

I think you have a point there Blossom.

I think I will increase my lily order .... when you can purchase a high quality for under $1.00, why not

Here are the lilies that they are offering for fall planting

I planted lilies for the first time last spring. At that time I was still working ... I retired this May .... never thought before that I would ever consider it important to know the specific name of a flower ... just yellow asiatic ... pink asiatic .... etc LOL

Most of my landscape was eradicated during extensive exterior renovations 2 years ago. I am slowing re-establishing the landscape ... hopefully to something much better than I had before.

Here is one of this year's blooms .... and I have no clue to it's ID
