tobe43,
nice plant, and beautiful flower. glad you didn't cut it off.

groveland, FL(Zone 9b)

well..bward.. thanks so much we will love her...we didn't cut it off!!!!..but i did take a cutting to richard, the gingerman for a trade, and i have another one rooting in my kitchen....that stem is STILL blooming!!

Eunice, LA

I'd like a tuber, too! It's really pretty.

groveland, FL(Zone 9b)

actually.....the piece that broke off is still my kitchen....and it's rooting!!! i just hope it continues..it's lost most of the leaves...but the top is still looking great! i'm keeping my fingers crossed...it's too young to pull the tubers as yet...but if this rooting works i'll have a few to share and spare!

Eunice, LA

That's really neat... I know nothing of rooting but am happy for you. I have some supposedly rare ones that are just sprouting - pink and orange, I think.

groveland, FL(Zone 9b)

well...i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will work...i know that after they flower you bury the stem and they take root...but this particular cultivar is very slow!
