All of a sudden my elephant ear leaves are starting to turn from green to mottled yellow to total yellow and croaking .. I have it growing in bright shade with about 1 hour of full sun in the afternoon. I'm worried about it spreading to my Alocasia wentii and Colocasia esculenta Coffee Cups.

Have my EE's got a virus?
Is the entire plant dying or just the older leaves.
If they have been growing in the same place for several years, there could be some root disease, and the plants would need to be dug up, the bad part cut off the corms, and replanted.
I have a colocasia Elena that is trying to do that too. I have been pulling up runners and putting them into the pond, to propagate them fast, will replant them once the soil in that area has had a chance to aerate and breathe some. You could also have insects in the soil that are boring into the tubers, I had a ginger go bad unexpectedly and dug it up and there were some kind of worm in there eating the rhizome.
It's big and small leaves and I just planted them in the ground this year and took the place of some hedychium coranarium I had in there last year .. they were in a pot last year and and wintered over in some vermiculite. I guess I'll dig them up and see if there are any bad places on the corm or critters eating them.
Thanks

I'm thinking I might put my Ensete ventricosum in there and just save some of the little EE corms in a pot and hope for the best .. I'll dig out all the soil and as Gothqueen says, let the soil and the hole aerate for a few days then plant with new soil.
