(Zone 7a)

LOL! LOL!

Well I bought this house in November to find out that my gardening has to change. I have FULL SUN everywhere. So I planted 'Hot Papaya' and 'Ruby Star' and in Love with them! The performance of the Hot Papaya is amazing! So I figured all coneflowers should work in that spot..

My gardening woes...Planting Trees like crazy to get some shade. Even planted an Empress Tree!

Kim,
When we purchased this house almost 4 years ago there were only 2 trees in the front (ornamental pear) and one pussy willow in the back. The first order of business was to plant trees. I put up trees like crazy and have some corkscrew willow that I can send you. They will provide you shade in 3 years or less. They are fast growers - not weeping willow but corkscrew willow.

I have a small white swan but daisy do well in heat. Others I could share are red bee balm, daisy, hollyhock (yellow), and try to get sedums - they will do well for you too.

Let me know by dmail if you are interested.

Thanks Kathy..I think I will try the Willow. I saw one at the Nursery down the street and it's beautiful. The owner said he planted it 12 years ago. I asked what it was and he said corkscrew willow. dmailing you..
