I never remember planting a Turk's Cap but this year it appeared in my perennial border. Does anyone know if they can propagate from seed, perhaps from a bird dropping the seed? It is beautiful and I an so happy to see it. Will take a pic tomorrow and post. I think it was there last year but did not bloom.
Turk's Cap
Sawpalm, I laughed when I read your post because of my experience with "mystery" plants showing up around my yard. In the past two years I have found three pastel colored tulips, a purple allium ,a white gladiola and two different colored hyacinths. These are plants we've never had and growing in places we've never planted anything. I have seen squirrels digging in my tulip beds and I suspect these little devils are playing "headgames" with all the neighbors by swapping plants. LOL At least we all have a little more diversity. One lady down the street has the same pastel tulips. I hope she doesn't think I stole them. Dan
What a great reply. I love my Turks Cap and actually moved a few cannas nearby that compliment the color. It all moved the color orange in my garden which bright up the faded glory of the plants that are now finished for the season. Good point about the squirrels.
I made a mistake, it is a turk's cap lily. Plain Turk's Cap is something altogether different. I need to take a photo!
