Suggestions for first hibiscus

I was wondering, which variety would you suggest to someone buying their first hibiscus?

I'd like to eventually invest in one and plan to research it thoroughly for plant shopping in 2011. For now I'm just browsing varieties trying to narrow down to varieties that can be indoors during winter and will do well in a hanging basket.

Are you looking for a tropical hibiscus? What colors are you interested in? You're looking for something to hang in a basket so you don't want anything that is upright in nature? That narrows down the choices right there...
