Sanguinea

barmera, Australia

I thought that you Brug lovers might like to see a pic of my Sanguinea that has grown and flowered here in hot, dry 40's C and about 8-10" a year rainfall South Australia. I'm tickled pink, now to keep it alive. Colleen

It is beautiful. I hope to have flowers on mine this summer, I have tiny buds so it should not be long.

Hi Colleen
You have done great to get the Sang to bloom in those temps.
It looks a nice shade of red :-)

Thank you so much for your comments. Alan I have seen your thread before and you are doing some fantastic work with the Brugs. Are you able to sell me seed of the Brugs that are compatible with Sanguinea?. If so how much would it cost to send to Australia? Colleen

Hi Colleen

Thanks for the nice comment :-)
I have sent seeds to Oz previously, it didn't cost a great deal I don't think?
Great work blooming your Sang.

Thanks for the return message Alan. I will have to have a look for the Sphaero, I haven't heard of that before. Will that pollenate Sanguinea? I will get back to you later in the year and see what I can afford. We have none here that are compatible. Colleen

Hi Colleen
Sphaerocarpium is the group name for all the 'cold group' Brugs.
This is made up of Sanguinea, Arborea, Vulcanicola and Flava. These will all cross polinate each other in the group.

Enjoy your Sang.

Yes Alan I did some homework. I'm only a beginner at this and have only the one Sanguinea all the rest are the normal Brugs. I have to correct something that I said in my first post. It's not in the 40's here at the moment so sang . isn't flowering in these temps, but did grow through these temps. I will keep an eye on your e-bay items and then should know when to contact you. Thank you. Colleen
