Angel's Summer Dream

(Cathy), MO

My first brug bloom of the season! This one is from Logees. And it bloomed 3 1/2 weeks after I got it! The plant is only 12-14 inches tall. I'm wondering if this would be a good one to put in a hanging pot?? It has a light sweet fragrance.

Only 1 bloom this time, but hopefully the next flush will be bigger.

She is beautiful! I bet she would be happy in a nice deep hanging planter.;)

She would be even happier in a hanging basket underneath my big Oak tree. She is lovely.

The bloom is smaller than the ones I've had before, but I guess that's because she blooms when the plant is small??

I think the flowers are smaller. Logee's description of it says 5" - 6" long. Usually flowers are measure from the beginning of the peduncle to the bottom of the skirt not including the tendrils. Logee's may be measuring from the bottom of the calx to the end of the skirt. Regardless, the blooms are smaller.

I like the smaler ones they fit well into the scheme of things around my yard. I really like the colour of that one , tho, Cat and she looks petite on top of it.

I waited until the bloom was completely done (didn't want to disturb it! LOL) and moved it to a large hanging basket. And I noticed it's got another tiny pod! I think I'm gonna like this one.

Cool..It would make a pretty hanging basket..

so did logees use Lugers summer dream to get this... or did they just jump on the edge of his nameing.... I don't think they are breeding.. growing out 100's of seeeds for trails..they got it from somewhere.. I remember this thread last year or two ago as to their nameing...

Byron Martin, owner of Logee's is listed as the hybridizer in iBrugs.com's List of Cultivars. He is listed as the registrant in BGI's list.

I have a question and am hoping one of you can answer it. If you have a patent pending brug (or any plant), is it true you can't share a cutting with others? I know it's illegal to sell them, but what about sharing?

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

The same thing applies. You may take cuttings for your own use, but no sharing.

Ok thanks. That's kind of a bummer, but I guess I understand why.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I think I need a LSD cuz of our temps here, it looks like it can handle it.
Cat, you are very Blessed to have that brug!

Thanks Debra. Just wishing I could share! :-)

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

You can share them, you just can't tell anyone.

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

I always heard you can take cuttings for yourself.. to insure aganst it's loss...
and bringing this foward.. you can safe guard them in storage at an off premises location .. like another facility [ Yard ] give one to a another division of your plant buddy growing cooperative.. maybe 3 or 4 of them.. I might be getting carried away here... could someone in the plant police force... tell me where to stop..

:-) Nuff said! Thanks guys!
