Can anyone ID this variety?

Mashpee, MA

A friend of mine gave me this plant 7 years ago; it had never bloomed for him. It bloomed for me in 2005, 2008 and 2010 (last night). It's been repotted twice so if I leave it be, it may bloom more regularly. I'd love to know more about it if anyone knows what variety it is.

I'm no expert but it looks like a Night Blooming Cerus...They seem to do better if they are potbound. Does yours only bloom at night? If not then it's not what I said..

Hard to ID with out a picture of the flower.

Merino, Australia

It looks very much like my Oxypetalum. but as said above , the flower is the clue.

Did your blooms look like this? And were they fragrant? If so, you have an epiphyllum oxypetalum, aka, Queen of the Night, Dutchman's Pipe, Night Blooming Cereus. I have five plants -- this year four of them bloomed last week for three nights for a total of 40 blooms in all. Two of mine are in large pots and I don't repot them as I have been told that they like to be potbound.
