A friend & I have some Q's about Fuchsia's ...
#1 - Can you propagate a fuchsia by division?
#2 - How do people work into the ground, organic matter of well rooted or established fuchsia's?
Thank you everyone in advance ...

I have an entry of how to plant a Fuchsia. I don't use the fertilizer when I plant but I use
my own compost and alfalfa pellets.
Here are some instructions for starting Fuchsias from cuttings.

Here is a picture of one that has recently passed and didn't make it through the transplant shock.
My friend has a few more Q's ....
The blooms on 'Black Prince' seem to be getting smaller. What does that mean and what should I do about it? The fertilizer I use is 24-8-16.
What equal parts fertilizer do you recommend?
I prefer to use even numbers like 18-18-18. I believe that if you have healthy roots and leaves, your going to have enough flowers and/or fruit for what ever one is growing. Looks like it is a Walz Bella that didn't make it. Do you have any idea why? The orange tinged ones are usually descended from species that do well in hotter climates.
It is normal for the flowers on fuchsias to get smaller as the weather heats up. Sometimes so much smaller when they are out in the direct sun, that you might even think you've got an entirely different plant somehow! Since most people are into the hanging baskets that are grown in the shade, they never see this. But it is normal and if the plant is moved into the shade, the blossoms will get bigger again. You just won't get as many in the shade. So it is a trade off.
It died after being transplanted... I just figured it couldn't handle the transplant shock.
Thank you soo much!
