I just wanted to be the first...

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

...to officially complain about the heat. ;)

ROFL!

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

The good news is I haven't seen a single slug all day!

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

That is good news. They've been outta control this year!

(Julie)South Prairie, WA(Zone 7a)

Right there with you :) ! I am very much not a heat person, and am thanking goodness for a/c at work for the amount of time I get to spend in the office. And I will also agree that at least it will help a lot with the slugs....may the heat at least be good for blasting the slimy buggers back into deep cover where they belong!

What a sweet lab. And the cats watching from the porch are pretty cute.

Boy, that is really surprising! I've never seen a deer play with another animal like that. You have to wonder how it even got started being that playful and tame.

Of course, we teach our dogs to chase any deer that come near, so that would never happen here!

Not such a good day for heat for me. I woke up to a burned up computer yesterday (some power surge that fried my power source which in turn fried my motherboard), so I've been buying a new setup and installing and moving cords around in tight spaces and generally grouchy trapped in my den all day in the heat. I think I have it up and running, though, with some minor adjustments, and I think only one adaptor I will need to get at the store tomorrow. It was a 2-beer project. I went with a laptop and docking station, but plan to use my desktop keyboard and monitor most of the time. I think I'll only need my tech guy to transfer the data from my old hard drive to my new one and be sure I installed/hooked up everything correctly. So far, so good. And, the house is relatively cooler than outside - it's been a furnace blast everytime I venture outside.

Tomorrow is supposed to be our hottest day. Lucky for us, our house is not too bad inside. Our bedroom is downright cool. So is the dining room. The hottest room is the sunroom. Even the kitchen with the Aga on all the time isn't bad. The wrap-around porch which keeps the house cold and gloomy 360 days a year really comes in handy in a heatwave!

Bonehead, sounds like a four beer project in this heat. Hoping all turns out good.

Cedarhome, WA(Zone 8b)

Ha ha -- PNW, you were right -- 2 beers for the project itself, and 2 more on the front porch recovering from the project.

Ok, really hot today! I got up early this AM to water but was hot by 9. Ran into a snake on my morning round. That put a damper on things for me. Hate those things. Very happy I do not live where snakes are big.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

It's 88 at my house. Too hot for me to do much of anything. Bleah.

My weather page tells me that after tomorrow it will go back down to the 70s for a while. I say yes, please...

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

I thought it was going to be hot again tomorrow, in the 80s, but on its way down. Then 70s Saturday and beyond. 69 is perfect for me. Altho I just keep thinking how great this is for the 'maters.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

90 downtown and getting on the bus to make the long commute to Woodinville where it's 91. Ugh.

Langley, WA(Zone 7b)

Is the bus air conditioned? If not, double ugh!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

It is, but the AC doesn't work as well if the driver let the heat get ahead of the environment. My bus is frequently SRO and that's just almost too much for the bus to keep cool.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Yeah, Gwen- that's what I said. After tomorrow.

Official temp in Lakewood is 97 right now- it's a little cooler than that on our front porch. Too hot. Bleah. Want AC.

(Julie)South Prairie, WA(Zone 7a)

OK, you know that it is WAY too hot when riding the bike home from work is an unpleasant experience. My poor Black Magik wasn't any happier with the ride than I was. She is air cooled, and she took her misery out on me every time we stopped in traffic by scorching my thigh with her oil cap. It's the car tomorrow, cooler or not!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Ouch!

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

I am very happy I am on vacation and not at work in a south facing room off the dusty playground.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Julie, I can relate. Tracy's shovelhead was miserable to be on in really hot weather. I don't miss it.
