Hard to tell. Does it have yellow in it?

I just bought this from Monterey Bay Nursery last week! I bought the red hot lava from them as well. Another nice one they do is Tiger Eyes.

Did you actually buy it from Monterey Bay or was it just one grown by them and sold to another nursery? I thought they were strictly wholesale.

Hi Kell, I work at a nursery so I was able to buy it wholesale. One of the perks of the job is getting to talk to the sales reps and see their samples...and then ask them for things I want! Also I pour over the Monterey Bay and Suncrest Nurseries availability list each week. How far from Napa are you? If you are close enough I can be on the look out for any special plants you are looking for.

Jeanne, you might get away with it if you have a sheltered spot. Here they do not even lose their leaves in winter and even in the winters where it got colder than usual, no problem at all.

They are so easy! You can train them as trees too. They bloom and bloom. Mine are in full sun but a little shade if you get really hot might help. The only bad things are that scale love them so I have had to use Bayer Tree and Shrub on a few over the years.

That is so nice of you Plantmum6! Lucky you working in a nursery! And living in Napa. I love Napa. I am in the East Bay. My problem is I want everything. I am a plant pig. An employee of Monterey Bay was a member here a couple of years ago. He was going to take us on a tour and buying trip there but as far as I know it never happened. It would be so much fun! I am more of a see it and buy person. Which nursery do you work for?

Kell, I work at www.midcitynursery.com Its a family owned business, now with the third generation. I love it to death and dont think I could ever work anywhere else! I started back in 1989, but took several years off when I was having my kids. Napa is nice but you have some perks in the East Bay too, like Annies Annuals and Berkeley Hort!
