Isn't this little guy a beauty? I don't eat squash but then the majority of what I grow in the garden I don't eat, lol. My husband is a zucchini fan and after seeing a pic of this one, it was just too pretty to pass up. Is it a bad thing when you start growing your vegetables because you think they are pretty, lol?
Green Tiger Zucchini....
Not necessarily. There are many of us that try a cultivar because it visually attracts us or has a name that catches a memory. I am intrigued because this cultivar is not in Plantfiles. Where did you find it? The only one akin to your photo is Green Zebra.
Whoops found it at Burpee. Entering into Plantfiles. Need photo and comment http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/192742/

Wow - will definitely be adding that one to my list. I love it!
Thanks for the Burpee find Farmerdill - now I know just where to find some...
Not bad at all. Eye-candy gets us all! I can't tell you how many plants I've grown because the name caught my attention, and basing a selection on eye-appeal is certainly a saner way to go!
(Have you tried eating the zukes raw? You might find that you like them that way!)
dj,
Raw zucchini are great sliced or chopped up in salads insfead of cukes. Cucumbers make me burp, zucchini don't!
I also slice them thin, saute in olive oil, dredge with grated parmesan cheese, and serve. Yummy.
I have some new variety of zucchini that looks a little like that, can't think of the name right now, but am on my way out to pick some for dinner.
