Visited a nursery today and saw a brug with huuuge fuzzy leaves, the owner does not know the name but tells me that it's a white single. The leaves are a good 15 inches long ,dark green, fuzzy and serrated, and the woody stems are very textured, almost wrinkled.
Please somebody say you know what it is!!
Paul
Big fuzzy leaves
Jeez Paul - sounds like you're tripping over brugs everywhere you turn! Obviously you're looking in the right places. Could it be like Brugcrazy's flava? She has a picture posted here on the contest forum. Maybe one of the experts can help you.
Arborea type?
No Eric,I saw an arborea elsewhere and the flowers are as posted by Rich somewhere on this site, with one split in the calyx which extends past the corolla, but the leaves were fuzzy and small. This other plant had huge dark green and serrated leaves.Any ideas,I don't want to miss out on this plant if it's something good.
Pauljr64, please go buy it unless it is tons of money....must be a guy thing, i buy now and find out later. you can always cut it up and trade it to us addicts here...
No Arlene,It's not a guy thing.I have bought several that will have to wait until next year for ID.Walmart ,of all places, had a bunch of unidentified brugs.I loaded up.
WALMART????????? mine has practically nothing, and certainly nothing out of the ordinary.
Jt,
Speaking of WalMart..went there one day and the lady at the garden area was just a fussing about the condition of the ferns she had just received...what she thought was bugs on the underside of the leaves was seeds..she asked if I need a job..I declined.
Gloria,I will probably be retiring next year. You may see me there pushing carts. :>)
LOL.. guess i better run by walmart, just never see brugs around here... Glad you got them, JT, hope they have beautiful flowers.
Paul, did you go back and look at my sanguinea-type pictures? One of them has big fuzzy serrated leaves like a maple leaf. Could it be one of those? Pay it - I'll go halfsies with you.
