my local supplier is out for the season and I have to order on line.
Tell me again where I can get them at? your fave web sites.
I might order a couple other varieties of winter squash also.
needing butternut squash seed
It seems prices have gone sky high on seed this year, was just looking at Willhite.com and their squash seems high
Johnny's is the best place to buy small amounts of seed. Comes in a couple days.
Are you looking for home gardener sized packets or do you need larger quantities?
If you want small quantities I would recommend Botanical Interests. They are one of my favorites and their prices and shipping are reasonable. Good amount of seeds and excellent germination.

Whole Foods sells a large selection of their seeds here. Not sure if you have one where you're at?
Johnny's has 3 selections. 30 seeds for $2.95. Of course there will be shipping, too.
The other place only has one variety, one that I would never plant. Says 5 grams. I don't know how many seeds make 5 grams.
30 seeds is sufficient for me if I can get a couple varieties of winter squash.
I checked out park seeds but they don't have butternut squash. I've not had any luck growing the delecata type squash.
I hate the 5 grams of seed , I mean, how can we know how much is in 5 grams LOL why don't they just give an approx count on them, so we'll know what we're getting .
I buy by the pound alot on some seed. and store it in the freezer.
thanks for the help
The 5 gram package says on the website - this packet plants: 7 hills or 21 plants after thinning. That's at least 30 seeds. To each his/her own I guess...
Their shipping is $3.95 for any size order. Orders are shipped usually the next business day and I usually receive my seeds from them within 2 days of ordering.
Thanks Kelly I'm gonna check out that web site.
