Rain Tank Camouflage

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

I happened to walk around the side of the back patio when we came home from a trip and saw these gorgeous plumerias straining to get to the sun in my shady backyard. They're hanging over the top of our rain tank that's screened off from the patio and garden. Blooms aren't visible from the garden or patio. What a waste!

have you fertilized your plumies, mine aren't blooming anywhere near what yours are doing and mine are in full sun! Lovely plumies, S.

Yes, I've fertilized it. It's just one plant growing in a large pot on the patio. The ones in ground are just starting to bud out. They've been fertilized also.

I think mine would perform much better in the ground but I'm afraid they would freeze.

Just pull 'em up, shake 'em off, and set them in a plastic storage container in the corner of your garage in November. They do just fine. 'Lose all their leaves, but as soon as they get back outside and planted, they perk up and put on more leaves. And you can cram a lot of potless plants in a storage container, as opposed to storing 10-20 pots.

thanks, Sandy.
