Everyone around me in upstate NY seems to love Spiderwort (tradescantia), but it's taking over my garden- shading and crowding out the other perennials. Anyone know a good way to get rid of it?

I've had the same problem. Roundup what you can, pull the rest. They will keep coming for years. It takes persistence. I still have one or two pop up every year. Don't ever let them go long enough to bloom.
