zone 7b -8a - does anyone know if this is a good time to rescue this wild petunia? If so, shall I just dig it up with lots of its native soil and transplant to a similar site? It is in danger of being mowed down.

You can pull, dig - whatever - you can't kill this weed! I do it every day, as it will take over my yard if I don't. If you find a way to permanently kill this runner, you will be very rich!
