They are gentle and hardy back yard pets. Tango hatched 11 chicks and they are now about 2 1/2 weeks old. I also have a 6 month old Roo named Coda. He is an extra handsome bird.

If any of you are near North Fort Worth area, interested or know someone who is please call me before they are all gone.

Here is a pic of Coda... Brd. Silkie Bantam Roo.

He was Tangos first baby... She hid and hatched the egg under our radar on Jan 15, 2010.

Deb, are you selling your chickens?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

Man I wish I was closer, me and my wife want a couple of them bad!

BrandonSivek, I have 2 white silkes that need homes. I can take a pic of them tomorrow to show you what they look like..I am not sure what sex the are since they were given to me as a month old..The people got them as surprise chicks and didn't want them..right now they are 3 months old on June 16. I was looking for somebody to give them a home. I have standard breeds and they don't bother them..
I am 45 mins away from you going up Hwy 146 to Dayton then to Liberty then to Devers..lol..

My experience is that Silkies are a little more disease prone but worth it. They are great pets and loving parents. If there was ever a candidate for a "house chicken", Silkies would be at the top of the list. They are easily trained as a lap chicken.

Moodene that would be great!!! I can't wait to see the pics! Is Jax's Burgers still in Liberty? That place has awesome burgers!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes Josephine, I'm selling 12 of my chickens;
1- 6 month roo, and 11 - 1month old chicks. I can only keep so many here in this neighborhood.
I wanted to make sure the chicks are 'hardened off" (so to speak), before selling them. They are all excellent birds!

I have this visual image of Silkie Bantams on a billboard saying... "eat more Jax burgers " LOL

They are charming and I'm certain both Debnes and Moodines will find good homes!

Hilarious Podster! lol!

Just thought I'd update on the chicks and roos...
I decided to donate them to Rocky Top Therapy Ranch
http://www.rockytoptherapy.org/
The kids there will enjoy them very much. We can go visit them any time. :-)
