We're talking about having a 'virtual county fair' with blue ribbons and everything. There would be livestock categories.

sounds awesome! unfortunately thanks to my desert environment, my gardens are never ready for harvest when everyone else's are. but it would still be fun!

Sounds like fun. I'll enter my crew!

at our county fair, the chicken barn has a series of competitions for the animals (also ducks, geese, all that) which i'm not sure how specific they go. by breed, i guess, as well as males and females. but also, there is always a display of eggs. i guess it's sort of like "show off your best dozen"? every kind of animal has a competition, i know that. rabbits, goats, whatever. we also had a hayride with draft horses, that was one of my favorite things and all the fairs i've been to that don't have a hayride with draft horses i think are just a little sad... there was a goats' milk ice cream stand too - kind of hard to do virtually but it doesn't get much better than that! no idea how any of it is judged or what the actual categories are. i was in 4H for sewing & crafts, i never entered the animal competitions, but i always liked going through the barns and saying hello to all the animals.

lol sorry if that doesn't seem relevant to the conversation - to me, a county fair is really a 4H fair, because where i grew up all the people who were involved were 4Hers. i had no idea that 4H is only supposed to be a portion of a county fair until a few years ago!
