New Texan on Dave's!
Welcome Bethintexas, we hope to see you around on the Texas forum.

Welcome Beth, please write back with an introduction........here's mine
I am a native Texan from DFW area, total urban sprawl...but in the past few years moved 80 miles into the country north along the Red River into Oklahoma. I still grow the same plants like I am in North Texas, and still refer to myself as Texan. My nearest Wal-mart is Gainesville, TX. I venture back to the metroplex to check on Sam Moon occassionally 'cause I have always been a city girl.
Here, I grow natives on 40 acres, plant butterfly and cottage style gardens. I have water ponds and plants. My specialty would be tall bearded iris with a secondary in daylily. I have been around a long time so have gained a bit of knowledge but I have only been gardening the last ten years.
I actually did my first canning the other day, with the old hand girls of my southern Okla group giving LOTS of advice and laughing all the way, I managed to "put up" twenty pint jars of plum jelly. I figure jars, sugar, cleanup, and labor with the free 25 lbs of plums they gave me it cost me about $55 a jar, so I don't expect I"ll be giving any away. I don't eat sugar so my dear husband will eat a lot of plum jelly, which by-the-way he says is excellent. Every bit as good as the $2.98 jar at Wal-mart.
I am Jackie Anderson, but ya"ll can call me Sharondippity
Thank you for your introduction Jackie, it is good to know more about our members.
