The plants have done fairly well, nothing great, the soil where they are planted needs improving. The variety is Prairie Blush from Wood Prairie Farms. I've dug one hill and it had a small to moderate yield. I'm not concerned about that, as I don't need a lot of potatoes anyway, I just enjoy growing them. Back to my question. Every plant now has black tipped leaves as the plants begin to wind down into maturity. I've only found very few Colorado Potato beetles, so I think it maybe a virus or fungus rather than insect damage. Ideas?
black tips on my potato plant leaves
Can you take a picture and post it?
It could be anything, including blight, which is not good...
Maybe by tomorrow.
OK - I'm watching the thread...
I was going to say it could be nothing too, just the taters finishing their growing cycle. In the meantime, maybe google early blight and late blight and see if the pics look anything like your leaves. Early blight is treatable, late blight is pretty much not.
