coffee pods in soil?

Is anyone throwing whole used coffee pods in their soil? Any thoughts on doing so?

I toss 'em in my compost pile, but you can use them anyplace. If you want them to break down faster, cut them open first.

You'd think they just used paper fibers so yeh they should be fine

I even compost paper towels & tea bags (minus the metal staple).
