This Epi was given to me late winter 2009 and was left outside under an olive tree. It was scraggly and looked like heck. But it did have one bloom. This winter I brought it inside in a darker room and watered very sparingly. Also I stuck into the soil two pieces that had broken off. Several weeks ago I took it outside and almost immediately it started developing the flower. the flower is on one of the broken pieces I stuck into the soil and apparently took root. It is really pretty even though I don't know what it is. I pruned back the older plant of its dead and soft sections (previous posting showing the Epis before and after). I hope this one has more blossoms. Xuling

And I think she got rid of it because it was so "ugly" in her eyes, and didn't bloom. To my benefit!! Xuling
