Does any recognize me? I have thick dark green "leaves" that end with pinkish tips that have a small "stinger" at the end. I have very small teeth along the edges of my "leaves". The "leaves" that are closest to my cup are tinted the same color as my ends. I currently have small lavendar flowers inside my cup. The underside of my "leaves" are striped a powery gray and brown with tints of the same color as my tips. I seem to like partial sun/shade and did very well during the extremely cold winter we had here in Florida.
I would appreicate to even know my genius if you could. We checked Neoregelia, but I didn't match. We have been checking Vriesea, still can't find my twin. Any help you can give us would be GREAT! My Plant Loving room-mate would love to be able to call me by name. Thank you so much for helping. Have a great sunny day with just enough rain to keep us happy and strong.
LOL ;o)
Can any one I.D. this Bromeliad?
This looks like the ones I have..Neo.painted fingernal. Look at my have list for the official name. I am looking to trade Bromeliads for Bromeliads if you have any other ones.
I'd guess Neoregelia spectabilis. (Surely it has spines on the leaf edges...) Ironically, it's one of the less spectacular specie Neos, but it's been around for ages.
If I'm right it wants stronger light. The leaves will become broader, shorter, and the whole plant "squater."
