RxBenson,
This and your other two photos on the Opuntia humifusa page are actually Opuntia macrorhiza, because of the the reddish throat in the flower.
Would you like your photos moved to the O. macrorhiza page?

Xeno.

Be my guest. Is the macro native to NJ? As these were wild when I snitched them.... Wow!

The USDA site shows that O. macrorhiza is as far east as Ohio.

The only other alternative is that it's the natural hybrid between the two (O. humifusa x macrorhiza)
The faded orangish-red red color instead of the deeper reddish color would also make sense for the hybrid.
These two species are very closely related anyways.
If you agree, then that's where I think this image should be placed (In the hybrid page)

Very pretty flowers on the Prickly Pear, I have one as a house plant and I've never seen it flower. I bring it outdoors in Summer, along with the other cactus, which it is grouped with.
