Vareigated Rose of Sharon

Nice, I've got two diff variegated ones, they are taking forever to grow out. and the regular ones grow like mad. Wonder what slows the variegated varieties down.

There may be other reasons as well, but one reason they grow slower because they don't have as much chlorophyll in their leaves.

Mine has finally reach over 5 foot after being in the same spot for 3 years..moist soil most of the time..it is getting grey water from my front kitchen sinall the time..

Well mine is half and half..one side is growing heavy variegated and other side is lightly variegated..but it still blooms away..I cut off any stems that carry solid green leaf tips off..I was told to do so by a gentleman who grew it.. just have to figure out when to do cuttings...lol.. I started out with a foot tall just rooted cutting..I did plant the seeds but always come up green leaf..maybe one day I will have one come up in the variegated form..lol..
