Does anyone use these? Another post talked about wind turbines, but they are quit expensive and it looks to me that solar panels cost less. How much energy do you need to run 2 shop lights and a small heater in the winter?

If I needed more than one panel it would be more cost effective to go w/ the wind turbine.

This is not an immediate need, but something I will probably research for a yr or so. I just need to know where to start.

One thing I learned was that heaters take way more energy than lights. Remember that solar only works good when the sun is out, and wind when it blows. A combination might be the best idea as money allows. My bet would be you will need backup electric.
