I havent had any luck with gettin my brug to bloom. What am I doin wrong . I fertilize and water like some of the forums say and still no luck. It got its y's last summer but no blooms. The picture is from a few weeks ago . I have since moved it outside.
Do you think my brug will bloom this year ?
The branches look very spindly. That means it probably didn't get enough sunlight and probably didn't have the energy to produce buds.
I have a few questions for you that will help me to help you. Was it in the same pot last year? How often did you fertilize and what with? Unless the leaves are heavily variegated, such as Snowbank or Miner's Claim, Brugs need at least morning sunlight. If your Brug spent the winter at that window, it probably didn't get enough sunlight. Indoor, unless it is next to a south facing window that allows the entire plant to be exposed to sunlight, Brug that don't go dormant will need artificial light for about 16 hours a day. The light needs to be an inch or two from the light source.
If the Brug spent last summer in that pot, I would pot it up to a larger pot. Maybe knock some of the old soil off to replace some of the old potting mix. Give it direct morning sunlight. Feed it once or twice a week with a full strength liquid fertilizer that contains all the micro-nutrients. It should start forming blooms although it may first have to put out new sturdier leaves and branches to help it produce more sugars.
