Anyone want to work out a trade?

I am really into Hibiscus right now, especially the Cajuns and the Bahama Bay verities, but any other type would be appreciated as well. If anyone has any that they wouldnt mind trading for something(s) on my trade list, PLEASE let me know.

Have you tried looking at the people who have tropical hibiscus listed in their tradelists? There are quite a few http://davesgarden.com/community/trading/search.php?search_text=hibiscus+rosa-sinensis&showhave=on&submit=Search Keep in mind though that anyone saying they have seeds of a named cultivar isn't entirely right...the seeds won't come true so you're not guaranteed to end up with what you think you're getting. Experimenting can be fun, but only if you know up front that you're experimenting!

Well, no luck on any responses on the Dmails I sent to some folks who had some Hibiscus available for trade. Anyone out there think they could spare some cuttings? :(

They sell Cajuns from Duponts at a local nursery here. My in-laws are in League City and we're going there for the 4th. If you want to buy some, maybe I could pick them up for you. Its Barbara's Nursery in Eunice, LA, if you want to call and see what they have.

Why are Cajuns so popular? Are they new or something?

I will totally hook you up in the fall when I need to bring them in. They are all small right now except the 3 new ones I purchased from www.hiddenvelleynaturearts.com They are big and beautiful, but I can't trim them yet. As soon as I do, I will get a hold of you!

Also, check out their website, they have absolutely spectacular plants. My 6" pots came with buds all over them and one bloomed as soon as I took it out of the box.

AND... you can look at www.bigbadflower.com I got 3 from them a couple weeks ago and they were beautiful little plants. Not grafted, and really small, but they have been fun to get going. Plus I payed $24 for all 3 with S/H! Pretty good deal.

Thanks so much for the link blupit! I just purchased 3 different Hibiscus off of the bigbadflowers.com site. City Slicker, Delta Dawn and Stolen Kiss. I really appreciate it and cant wait for my plants to come in!

Oooh! Exciting! Let me know how they come along. He is really quick at shipping. He will probably send them on Monday, and you will get them in 2-3 days. He's great. I got my City Slicker from him, and it seems to be the best one of all three growing so far. I also got Voodoo Magic and Gabriel. I really wanted Delta Dawn! Keep in touch.

Well, got my 3 little Hibiscus in and they may be small but they look very healthy, and already have great root systems. I like the way he sent them as plugs, it was so easy to pot them. I will keep yall updated on how they do. :)
