This just struck me as funny, I hope somebody else finds it amusing.
My front porch has shoes on it that should be thrown out, I'll get around to it one of these days. Anyway, one night over the weekend, when there were jillions of teenage boys here, I opened the front door and just happened to notice a toad hop out of my youngest son's hiking boots, that haven't fit in years. I figured it was going out to dinner for the evening. I reminded the kids to shake their shoes before they put them on.
Well, this morning my younger son (who missed my shoe speech, because I don't know what I'm talking about, ever), went to the front porch to get his regular shoes that had been out from the night before. Well, you guessed it, he felt something soft in his shoe when he went to put it on, out jumped the toad. I guess it went into the wrong shoe when it came "home" last night.
My older son yelled "How come HE gets toads and I get scorpions?"
Reminder:SHAKE OUT YOUR SHOES!

pretty funny! i have tried to get those nice toads to move into my yard and they won't do it--even the few that i introduced there have left! lucky you!
I had that happen to me while living in Mi but I got a dead mouse instead of a toad..lol....
If it had hopped in my older son's shoe it would have died for sure.
Blkraven2-how long had it been since you had worn those shoes?
I'm surprised my son didn't scream, he just said "there is a toad in my shoe" I was in the bathroom (of course) I tried to hurry but I missed the whole thing.

Ii worked in an old farn house and they were snow boots I had worn to work them Id left there for a while and finally took them home and the next time I went to wear them I found the mouse of course I had stuck my foot in it first and after feeling something in ther ereached inside and found the critter..
My boys make my life so crazy busy, but so much fun too. How many people get to hear "Mommmm...there's a toad in my shoe."?
