This looks like a juvi bird too. Also shot near Denver this week. Sorry for the lousy photo. I had to crop severely since it was so far away. Is it a raptor and any idea of what kind? I thought maybe Kestrel???

Ditto to female American Kestrel. Sibley gives juveniles same as adults.
