Shot near Denver this week. My best guess is a juvi grackle on this bird since there were a lot of Common Grackles in the area. The only other black birds I saw were Starlings and Red-winged Blackbirds and I don't think it could be either of those.
Any ideas?
CLOSED: Black Bird - Juvi Common Grackle?
Agree with juvenile Common Grackle.
Thanks Burd. It seemed to be too chubby to be a Grackle, but I couldn't see what else it could be. It was the right size for a grackle...I think. Hard to remember.
Patti
Me too. I'd guess the bill isn't quite full length yet.
