This little guy was at a feeder late this afternoon. I've checked my Florida Bird Book but can't find a match, but I'm not really good at comparing photo's either, LOL. I'm assuming it's some sort of sparrow but not real sure.
Anyway, this bird was real small, a lot smaller than it looks in the photo, about the size of a Tufted Titmouse. The lighting wasn't the best in my pictures ... late afternoon sun was glaring a bit.
CLOSED: Anyone recognize me?
House Finch, female
Resin
Thanks so much Resin! I really appreciate the identity of this little cutie. I've never seen this bird around until yesterday. Another one was visiting the feeders this morning ... great to know what it is!
My Florida bird book shows a photo of the male House Finch, but not the female. I've never seen a house finch at the feeders before but my bird book says they are now an established breeder in the upper 2/3rds of the state.
Thanks again for your knowledge and help in identifying birds!
Lin
