I just hatched some chicks. (well, late last night) So one is about 12 hours old and the others about 7 hours old. I just realized that I don't have any chick started food. Do they have to eat right away or can they wait a few more hours? I can't get to the feed store until later today. I have provided them some water.
One other question. Today is day 21, I have two more eggs in the incubator, how long should those stay until I know they will not hatch? (Hopefully they will hatch!)

They are fine without food for two days, no big deal. Also I would keep the eggs for a full 23 days before pitching them. Some don't like doing it but I always open the egg up gently so I can see what was going on, which gives me a better idea if I did something wrong that needs to be corrected...Hay
