Our Tree Swallow is so friendly

The nesting box is beside our sidewalk where the mailbox is located. We rarely go through this door but I will always walk by just to say hello "lucy" and she sits and listens. Amazing little birds.

She is sweet. This is the first time I've had these sweet birds. I want to peek in the box but afraid to. What I've read is it's ok to gently peek but ........

How cute! When I was growing up, we had Tree Swallows nesting every summer in a box at the back of our yard. They never divebombed us (unlike the neighborhood Purple Martins!) and were always sweet and friendly.

Very cute and the more you talk to them, the longer they'll sit with you. We've added branches to our deck railings and our swallows will sit on them all day and we can walk past them (slowly) without them leaving.

They are wonderful birds and so friendly.
