I love this plant and it has done wonderfully for me!! BUT, we had 2 weeks of 20 degree weather and now it is all mushy and wilted. Will it spring back? I tried trimming them but I haven't seen any changes...(I live in San Antonio)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I am not sure if they will or not. We didn't get that cold on the coast, but had some 26-28 degree weather. I would wait a good while before giving up on them. They are pretty hardy plants! If you lost them, let me know and I will send you some starts from my plants. Mine are all blooming right now.

Hi, Russell!

No, they didn't pop back..I ended up digging them up:-( I did go out and buy 2 more pots of them and divided them...got 18 plants so I think I am good! What do you do for the winter? Leave them or trim them down? I was thinking of trimming them down and placing pots over them during the cold nights...yes or no?

I left mine outside uncovered without doing any trimming this year and last year and didn't have any problems at all, but you guys had much cooler temps than we did on the coast. You can always dig out a section or two and put them in pots for the winter and keep them in the house until the cold snap is over. Mine have lasted the last 2 years of freezing conditions down to 23 degrees, but we would warm up past freezing during the day and probably only had 3 days of freezing conditions at a time. If you end up needing some, send me a Dmail. I have quite a few.
