wow I've never seen them bloom before, my elephant ears in the same bed bloomed last year too!
youre doing good when they bloom...
I've always heard you should cut the bloom buds off as soon as you spot them. Otherwise, they set seed and you don't get as many leaves, which are more colorful than the bloom.
