It is of Middle English origin, and its meaning is "fox".

East Tawas, MI(Zone 5b)

I am of course ~ speaking of the name ~~ Todd!

Todd, the fox from "The Fox and The Hound"?

No, but darn if they didn't look close when the two were both young.
So I speak of another Fox.... my fine old gentleman friend, Todd.....Todd of my heart. Todd who has cuddled me through many a tough times. Todd, the smallest from his litter of five, a pup with a heritage of malt-pek-poma-wawa.....might as well have gone and named him Sue!

Todd is more of a poma~wawa than the malt-pek parts, as a matter of fact~ I don't see them in him at all. He believes himself to be of a very extraordinary large dog breed ~ in an itty bitty body. Never snappish...he loves the babies! King of this house...oh yes, he is. Todd can often be found surveying his vast, city lot size domain, from the top of "HIS" rock on the waterfall hill or grubbing the grounds about him.

Todd enjoys the times when the younger crowd "Monster and Lovely", go outside without him...so much so that he frequently rings the bell, the bell that tells one of his servants to go open the door. The bell that calls the little ones to go out with him. And then once they are through the threshold....he turns around and prances inside, often to say " Let's play, can we play, now, now? is it time now.. they're gone...those big footed, large mouthed, bouncy big boned dogs are gone...let's play."

Todd likes to wears his hair two ways, his longer, suavely sophisticated pomeranian winter coat...which he adores and grooms, but which also shows his age. And this style shown here, his summer sliced, carefree butch! Nothing special, cut the back, bottom and sides...trim a little from the face and legs, leave the tail alone...... he just likes to keep it cool. Don't let his summer hair cut photos fool you tho. . .he celebrates his 12th birthday this years.

Oh the smiles and joy he has given me. But a few heartaches too....five years ago, on a day right after Christmas, Todd awoke in a grand mal seizure, one month later....he had his second. Within the week the vet confirmed my suspicions, my little Todd has Epilepsy. But we are very please to say...with medication, Todd has had no further episodes and we are planning to be together for some time to come.

We hope you enjoy his photo shoot....freshly snapped...Herrrrre's Todder!!!!!
