Need ID please

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Is this a cabbage white? Its the first time I have seen it in my garden. It loves the Vitex.

That's a Checkered White (Pontia protodice), which looks very similar to the Cabbage White in flight but once they land you can see the "checkered" pattern on the wings.

That checkered pattern is exactly what threw me off. According to my NABA list of butterflies in Tarrant County they have it listed as UNUSUAL. Must go look up the host plant...see if I can get that info wrong too. NABA just shows Brassicaceae: cabbage, mustards, and pepper grass
