My little pond!!!

Lilburn, GA

Hi, This is my little pond. I am hoping to get lots of frogs this year as I love them.

I am also getting a pump for it.

Does anyone have any tips for my pond?

Thank you:o)

Very cute! Is that a pre-form plastic base or is it a moldable liner? I don't know anything about drawing frogs - except that I built my mom a pond, nothing special, and the frogs came within weeks. Something to do with her Houston (similar to your Georgia?) environment.

My only suggestion would be to get a couple larger rocks and have the smaller ones overlap so that they can really cover the edge. In my ponds it is a constant battle to cover the edging platsic..seems never ending as rocks shift and/or fall in. lol!

Hi Art,

Thank you very much for your post.

I will get some bigger stones for around the pond. Just have to find out where they are sold.

It is a pre form plastic base.

I am going to have a pump a and a frog squirting water.

Very nice little pond. I am sure you will enjoy it. I hope you have a place for the frogs to perch and get out of the water and back to land.

Food, water and shelter. You've got the water (just make sure they can get in and out with their little frog legs), and the food (insects) will come. So I'd say just make sure there's a little frog-sized cave or such nearby. They need a place to get out of the sun, but also they like to feel protected, so a space not too much bigger than what they will fit in. Some people use a flower pot turn over, or a broken piece of ceramic pipe, something like that.

Have fun! Keep us posted...

Thank you very much for the advice. I got more plants today for the edge and will build something for the frogs to hide.

My pond looks like this today.

Looking good! I really like your spitting fish. Where did you get them?

From an aquarium/pond specialty shop nearby.

Aren't they cool???
