No, cuttings from various DGers. I only had one last year to have a seed pod and it did not mature before the cold got it. I wish I had cut the branch off and waited for it to mature.

The chances of the pod maturing on a rootless branch are just about nil. There isn't enough energy stored in the branch to both root the cutting andcarry the pod to maturity. If you get seed pods that you know will not mature before winter, try air layering the branch about 2 months before the beginning of winter. That should give your branch a good root system. Good enough to support the seed pod until it matures.
