I'm having little luck with my hummingbird watching as of late. I had been feeding them, and they've all but disappeared; however, my sister had the supreme luck of finding a hummingbird nesting in her garden, (and she doesn't even feed them).
Nesting Hummingbird
Aww that is sweet Margui!! Thanks for sharing it with us!
That is some supreme luck. Can you describe the nest site? Kind of tree/shrub, height of nest, etc... Hopefully, we will see some pictures of hatchlings soon.
I'm sorry to hear your hummers have disappeared. Great to hear you're able to see the nest. Your photo is adorable!
Keep us informed on how she is doing. and more pictures if possible.
Will do! We had a terrific storm a day or so after spotting her, we were so worried that something will happen, but she survived, and is still sitting on her nest. She lets us get pretty close for a while, and then dive bombs us if we stay past our welcome.
It's fun to watch her bounce in her nest as the wind blows ever so slightly, as she built her nest on the very end of a very insubstantial branch.
I'll keep y'all updated as events unfold.
