My DH has spotted a solid black bird in South Texas near Freer that can actually hover? Are there different species of blackbirds? I know our blackbirds here in Southeast Texas do not hover. I can't wait to see that sight.

Red-winged Blackbirds can hover quite well, I can't think of any others (Blackbird's) that can hover, but you never know.
We do see infrequent red-winged blackbirds but have never seen them perform this unusual flight. Definitely will pay closer attention. Thanks, again.
