gladiolus in sw florida??

Naples, FL(Zone 10a)

Does anyone grow gladiolus in the ground in southwest Florida? If so, what types? In Fort Myers, there is a gladiolus road and an "a & m bulb" road. Was there a bulb industry there in the past? Thank you.

glads grow in the tropics, so you should be able to grow them inground, any of them, species and/or hybrids. May I suggest you visit the Florida Forum, which is a regional forum. I think your answers will be answered faster than here.

Thank you.

Ft Myers was, at one point, the gladiola capital of the world. I guarantee you can grow them in SW Florida! There used to be huge stretches of glad farms that were absolutley beautiful!
