I'm thinking this is a Savannah Sparrow. Am I correct?
Does anyone know what is going on with it's head?

CLOSED: What kind of sparrow is this and what is on its head?
Hack, Could be Savannah Sparrow. Looks like the poor thing has avian pox.
Thanks Missy - I'll have to research Avian pox when I get a chance.

I read an article about Avian Pox, a viral infection on Raptors and other birds. The lesions are not well defined (with avian pox), and with irregular margins. This poor sparrow has a big 'old tumor-like type of swollen, well defined circular in shape bump. Let's hope it's something like a bird-mark. Hack, this is pure guess-work. No scientific knowledge is claimed here. lol.
