We went away for our Anniversary and boarded our old dog for two and a half days.
My dog Koala is a 14 1/2 year old Chinese Shar Pei. When we came to pick her up, she was wearing a little sweater standing half on her bed that we brought with her, in a cage with another dog, like her, who is blind and mostly deaf. When we left they were side by side in different cages, near the house, but when we came back, she was in with this other blind dog and they seemed to like each other, from what we witnessed. When we got her, she seemed happy and a bit confused too. We got her in the car and she started bellowing, uncontrollably, as if she were crying. She climbed off the car floor and wrapped her paws on my neck and was climbing on my lap. Which is like a block of cement with legs and talon like claws. She started to bellow and yelp until she got both paws on both my husband, the driver and me.
I am traumatized by this, but nobody can say a dog can't love. If they do, they are full of crap.
